Thanks to all you lovely people who voted for us, Coln Community Stores is the South-West Region WINNER of the Village Shop & Post Office category of the 2026 Countryside Alliance Awards! We now look forward to the results of the National Awards where we shall be assessed against the winners in our category from the other five regions. The fact that Coln Community Stores has progressed this far in the Countryside Alliance awards is due to more than the votes you cast for us. Equally important is the commitment and dedication of our staff and volunteers who time and time again demonstrate their community ethos in their professionalism and friendly interactions with customers in shop, café and post office. Big high-fives to everyone involved! Break out the champagne! |

An exciting day for Coln Community Stores as Café Coln opened after a complete refurbishment.
The refurbishment, offering better customer-facing facilities and space for staff, was made possible thanks to government funding as part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund awarded by Cotswold District Council. The funding recognises Coln Community Stores' strong alignment with the UK Shared Prosperity Fund objectives - particularly its focus on community and place, as well as our role as a valued community hub.

Together We Have Raised £3,500 for Local Charities!
A heartfelt ‘thank you’ to everyone who participated in the celebration of 150 years of our shop and the role it still plays in our community.
Thanks to your generosity, the four free-entry events across July raised £3,500 and every penny will go to local charities.
As always, we’ll be looking to the CHEQS community to help us decide how best to put the money to good use. You’ll hear more about that process in due course.
Thanks to Ed Brown for the aerial picture... and see a short video of our 150th Anniversary Celebratory Party below:
